Frequently Asked Questions
Where does BWC source its watches ?
BWC purchases all of its watches direct from the relevant manufacturer: We are an Authorised Agent for all of the brands we sell.
Is there an easy way of entering the watch model number(s) in the Order Form ?
The easiest method is to copy the model number from the relevant watch page:
(1) select the ‘model number' (starting with BW...) by positioning your cursor at one end of the detail and moving the cursor to the other end while pressing the left mouse button.
(2) copying the highlighted 'model number' to the clipboard using ctl-C
(3) pasting the 'model number' into the Order Form using ctl-V

Why buy from High Street retail, would be my response. With traffic jams, finding a park, the inefficiency of public transport and your loss of time, High Street shopping is becoming too hard! Once you are in the shop and are looking for what you want, I would admit that this is the fun part, but then comes the process of having to pay. For a start, there is the queue, and then 8 times out of 10, you endure the rudeness/miserable shop assistant – that is the High Street shopping experience of today. If you are lucky enough that you can afford to shop in high end boutiques, it gets even better. As soon as you enter the shop, you are looked up and down (judged), encounter the arrogant shop assistant, when all you want to do is buy! Overall, this is not the High Street retail experience we used to get, but it is a rare thing today when you can turn round and say, “That was great service – I would buy off them again”.
The Web on the other hand, you purchase from the comfort of your own chair (at home/work), with a drink in your hand (glass of wine/cup of tea), have your shop, make your selection, purchase & gain loads of time – i.e. your life! The excitement is waiting over the next few days in anticipation for your delivery. The Web is becoming a far more pleasurable way to shop, & that is why we at BWC, now buy 80% of our goods – online.
Some of you will say that you can’t touch the goods when buying on the web, but I would say, if it saves me a 4 hour round journey (as an example), then I am not too bothered! I will also take this time to reiterate that we are authorized agents to all the new watches we sell.
Do I need to add VAT to the watch prices show on the website ?
No, the prices shown are those you pay.
What are your delivery charges ?
If the delivery address is in the UK, there is no charge. If it is outside of the UK, please provide us with the required delivery address in an enquiry form and we will provide you with details of the appropriate charge.
How can I pay for my watch(es) ?
We have chosen Paypal as our single method of payment because it offers a wide choice - bank account, debit card, credit card or your PayPal balance. All you need to do to make your payment via Paypal is to register and to know our relevant email address - this is sales@bigwatchcompany.co.uk

What do 'H', 'W' and 'D' mean in the watch descriptions ?
H = height, W = width and D = depth.
How long will I have to wait for my watch(es) ?
We aim to have watches delivered usually within 7 working days (Monday to Friday). Angular Momentum and Archimede watches are however made to order, and delivery of these will usually be within 14 and 21 working days. To count an order as being placed on a particular day it must be received by 2pm.
What method of delivery will be used ?
All UK deliveries will be via UPS.
Can I see actual watch sizes on my computer screen ?
The photographs of the watches are not all taken square with the watch faces and are images resized to fit the required screen layout: They are not therefore on the screen at actual size. But there are many screen rulers available which can help e.g. Wonderwebware, Spadix
